Mum and Baby Session

Mum and Baby Session

Photographing family within Noosa

A Mum and baby session has to be my absolute favourite to photograph. I know I am biased, being a Mum of three myself. I just adore capturing the connection and love between parent and child and I know first hand, how precious these photos become in years to come. Not just for the parent, but for the child to look back on and see and feel how much they were love right from the beginning. I also adore capturing a child’s exploration. As adults I think we forget how amazing this world of ours is. Maybe we don’t forget but we’re too distracted to take it in. We forget to stop and smell the flowers. We can’t remember what it was like to see the colour green for the first time or to smell fresh air for the first time. There really is nothing more special than seeing it in a photograph.

Here is a little snippet of beautiful Michelle with bubba Matilda’s experience this morning. A walk through the park is all it took…

A little more about the session…

This session was captured in a Sunrise Beach Park. Initially, we were planning an afternoon beach session but sometimes the sunset hour is a little tricky for 5 month olds, so Michelle opted to change to a mid-morning shoot. When planning a photo session with a little one, there are always pros and cons for having a session at different times of the day. The biggest factor is the happiness of both parent and child. Here are some things to think about if you’re planning a mid-morning shoot.

  1. Opt for something other than the beach. Michelle was happy to have her photos in the park, which was perfect. If you’re flexible on location choice, you will be set up for the next point.
  2. Full sun in Noosa can be very bright on little eyes and it can be hot. Choosing a location with some open shade will mean your photographer can capture natural shots without squinting.
  3. More direction may be needed to scoot into good light slightly or to ensure the photographs are captured at very particular angles, but it is very manageable. You can still capture natural, beautiful moments.

If you would like to book a mid-morning park session like Michelle or you know someone who would, feel free to connect with me here. I would love to meet you and your little one!
